YWCA

YWCA

The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, through financial education, young women’s forums, and senior centers. The YWCA is dedicated to providing economic empowerment programs. The Own It Financial Education Program is a four-week program that gives women and their families the skills and tools to own their financial future such as home ownership 101 and insurance 101.

The YWCA Young Women’s Forum is a dynamic setting where young female leaders and emerging professionals in the community can connect with one another, share strategies and create support networks. The last few years have featured topics such as knowing your purpose, mind and money, and being a woman for others through philanthropy.

Arizona has one of the nation’s largest senior populations, and the number of seniors is projected to triple within the next fifty years. In this state alone, about 1 in 12 people over the age of 65 are living in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The YWCA supports and participates in many senior centers and programs, including Meals on Wheels, helping to deliver over 105,000 meals and nearly 11,000 dial-a-rides to elderly citizens

Arizona Charitable Giving is a labor of love created to make it easier for the residents of our great state to search and find local charities that touch their hearts. We share selected charities and events to a large distribution list of Arizona residents via email and social media on a regular basis. Any qualified charitable organizations are welcome to submit their profile to be included in our on-going outreach efforts.

Thank you to our sponsors this month.
