The mission and vision of the Arizona Foundation for Women is to create a better life for Arizona’s women and children, by mobilizing the community’s power and resources to meet their unmet needs and empowering them with long-term solutions by focusing on Safety, Health, and Economics (SHE).
By creating a better life, SHE counts and has achieved:
Provided millions in funding to Arizona's programmatic community since our founding in 1995 with the help of foundations, businesses, and individuals.
Published the Report on the Status of Women in Arizona (2007, 2010, 2014, 2016) and serve as a non-partisan resource by providing reputable data for public policy and legislative decision-makers.
Served as the leading voice for women in our State and as a key resource for non-profit, business, and governmental leaders.
Built community collaborations and invite all to participate in our work. We helped form Training & Resources United to Stop Trafficking and we are leading the conversation in Arizona to eradicate and penalize domestic minor sex trafficking. We also support the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC), a national, toll-free hotline, available to answer calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year in more than 200 languages.
Sponsored model programs, such as Live & Learn, an Economic Empowerment program designed to break the cycle of generational poverty for disadvantaged women and their families.
AFW invests in innovative programs and partnerships to help address the unmet needs of Arizona’s women and children, accomplishing incredible, powerful outcomes, awarding millions of dollars to the community since the founding in 1995.
Arizona Charitable Giving is a labor of love created to make it easier for the residents of our great state to search and find local charities that touch their hearts. We share selected charities and events to a large distribution list of Arizona residents via email and social media on a regular basis. Any qualified charitable organizations are welcome to submit their profile to be included in our on-going outreach efforts.
