The mission of the Concerns of Police Survivors, or COPS, is to provide resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of those surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The organization is committed to honoring the fallen members of law enforcement with rebuilding, education, and support by providing training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and education for the public of the need to support the profession and its survivors.
Each year, between 1 and 6 law enforcement officers in Arizona are killed in the line of duty, leaving their families and co-workers to cope with the tragic loss. COPS Arizona provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives and has helped over 300 families, offering training and assistance to law enforcement agencies on how to respond to the loss of a member of the force.
